Smoothery

the brand

a small NZ business offering healthy pre-made smoothie mixes that help to promote nutrition, sustainability & wellness. Kavya, Founder of smoothery, reached out via Instagram DM's to discuss having some new imagery created for their launch. This meant that images were to be used across social media and their new website! It was clear from the start that were a great match and I couldn’t wait to get started.

The Brief

AFTER chatting about the client’s preferred style and aesthetic, it was clear to me that the shoot would be minimal, yet full of smoothery branding. There’s a hard balance to find when wanting to keep shoots minimal as you’re at risk of the results being too ‘simple’ with not enough branding. So I made sure to communicate my plans & props that I want to use throughout the shoot by creating a detailed style guide for my client to approve.

Testimonial

Katy is an absolute superstar with organising the photoshoot ahead of launching our Smoothie Blends. She is professional, detail oriented and most importantly FUN to collaborate with. Her thorough onboarding process will eliminate all guesswork that comes with engaging a remote service.

It was important for us to have the overall aesthetic tied in with the brand and have the focus on highlighting the product range and ingredients - the mood board and Pinterest boards helped a lot in achieving that. The output looks so great, absolutely thrilled to launch Smoothery with an amazing library of images!

The Process

Prior to our shoot date, we agreed on me ordering and collecting new glassware, crockery, straws and backdrops/tiles. I also picked up some dried flowers to help with creating shadows to create depth in the images. Half of the shoot was for ecommerce purposes (see below) whilst the other half was for more styled, lifestyle shots (see above).

The Result

A clean, crisp photoshoot that is minimal yet full of character and branding! The smoothies and new packaging were both showcased in a way that not only aligns with the brand, but talks to their target audience. over 180 images were sent to the client for final selection! Their chosen images can be found on their website and social media as they’re making full use of their new gallery.
